APRIL-MAY

FORTHCOMING:

Theatre Du Jour brings unbridled spectacle to the small stage with Antonin Artaud’s 1947 radio play, To Have Done with The Judgement Of God. Written and produced for French Radio, the cacophonous rant against government and religion was shelved until after Artaud’s death. Using the play as a roadmap, this production utilizes sound, imagery, projections, and music to explore the author’s conviction of the futility of man’s relation to government, nature, God, and his body. Profane and irreverent, profound and funny, this performance fuels the debate of whether Artaud was a visionary or a madman, sublime or insane. Featuring Rachel Reed, Jerry Herbilla, Jacquelyn Paulin, and Annetta Dexter Sawyer. Directed by B. Stanley. Soundscapes by Nate Taylor and Rob Gould, sculptural costuming by Stephanie Williams.
